It's possible to play your hack on real hardware, but you'd probably have to use a pre-patched game with a loader on a hacked Wii, or something similar to Nintendont for the Wii U. I started it long ago before I knew much about hacking so it's not drastically different but it does contain a few new moves, all new trainer and shadow pokemon and new TMs. I don't have plans to work on colosseum for a while but I thought I'd release what I'd done for anyone who may be interested.
Pokemon Colosseum 2 Rom
I've played through most of it a few times myself and it should be pretty stable. It's called Pokemon Mausoleum.P.S. I deleted all the battle mode trainers to save space so you can only play these on Story Mode.Credits-These two helped a lot in terms of researching various elements of colosseum so it feels appropriate to at least give some credit.Edited May 2, 2018 by StarsMmd. I don't know how other randomizers do things, but I'm wondering, did you at all take into account whether some Trainers (mainly the major ones, like Miror B. Or Dakim) appear multiple times and may have originally kept some of their Pokemon between one battle and another?
Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness is the primary full-fledged Pokemon roleplaying recreation to now not seem on a hand-held platform. Thinking about it, that does sound a bit complicated, but it also seems to me like it would be a nice touch.Perhaps more importantly, did you randomize absolutely everything, or did you try to make sure that, where a Trainer has a Shadow Pokemon that could have been captured, their alternate Shadow Pokemon/Shadow Pokemon-less teams would look the same? (I guess you could argue this is kind of trivial too, though, depending on how much.fidelity? You want from the 'new' game.). I made it so that the same trainer will have the same shadow pokemon with the same moves like in the original however I didn't make sure the rest of their teams stayed the same. In colosseum most shadow pokemon appear more than once so I thought it was at least important to keep then the same.As you probably know the game stores separate versions of the team with and without the shadow pokemon giving the illusion of just one pokemon being switched or removed. I'll have to see if there is an easy way to identify when a tram is a shadowless version of another. I could also try and make it so that trainer teams with the same trainer name use similar Pokemon. If anybody else has any other ideas/improvements let me know and I'll make some new patches.
Edited April 8, 2016 by StarsMmd. Is it possible to modify Colosseum and 's pokemon and add gen 4-6 pokemon in the game? Or are the models unable to be converted into their format?I've been dreaming of the day that will be possible but I have no knowledge of models and animations. I know that some people have tried in the past but ended up giving up without much success. We'll just have to wait for someone to figure it out eventually. Considering that the model formats from battle revolution to X/Y/OR/AS have been reverse engineered I'm sure the necessary knowledge is out there. This time last year there was no information on hacking these games at all. It's still a young field for now so let's wait and see what comes up in the future.
Are you planning on releasing a randomizer / pre-randomized patches for? Would be interesting, especially with randomized Shadow moves. I've been hoping for a randomizer for Colosseum for quite a while now, thank you so much for doing the research necessary to figure it out!Well I'm working on a pretty big project which I think will be really fun for fans like myself and although I can use the exactly same randomiser code that I used on colosseum for, I want to wait until I release the modded version first.Basically, yes I will but not quite yet. It will just be a little longer.Thank you for the kind words btw. Hi, I followed the directions as given and everything but, unfortunately, Dolphin stops working after about 15-20 minutes. I'm not sure what the problem is.
I used Tsukuyomi as the patcher and GC Rebuilder to add the patched files to a fresh ISO of Colosseum.I read before that DSPLLE on Separate Thread should be checked, but it doesn't change anything whether it is checked or not. Are there certain settings that I have wrong?
I didn't change anything else within the settings except bouncing between DSP HLE emulation (fast) and DSP LLE recompiler.neither helped. If my hardware matters.I'm running an AMD FX 9590 with 16GB of RAM and an R9 290.which will be switched with an R9 390x Wednesday (so if it is relevant to the graphics.a solution for both would be great).I'm a Pokefreak.not someone that normally deals with patches though =^.^=. Sorry but I'm not sure I can be of much help. Make sure you're using the latest version of dolphin and you should be able to find the best settings for colosseum. It's weird that it works for a bit first. Is there a certain point that it freezes at?It's always right after a battle finishes.
It's never frozen when I'm just walking around. If I'm just walking around I can play for hours if I wanted to.but that accomplishes nothing lol I'm using Dolphin 4.0.2 as well. I contemplated on rolling it back to v3.0 and seeing if that helped at all, but since I can't find anything online similar to what I'm experiencing.I just assume I've done something wrong ^-^' sitting here wishing SleepyJirachi had put up a 'How to' video on it lol. It's always right after a battle finishes.

It could be a graphical issue with the transition between the battle and the field. I'm not sure what else you could do but you should try playing around with all of the settings.
Try making everything as safe as possible and see if it works. Edited April 8, 2016 by StarsMmd.

It seems to be really stable.Alternatively, if you have a wii or wii u lying around you can follow some relatively simple steps to get a gamecube emulator on it (I use nintendon't). Since it runs the actual official gamecube emulator it runs perfectly.

What all are you doing to update it more StarsMmd?It's mostly done. I just have to put battle bingo and battle cds back in. There'll be a minor update in a few days which moves a few shadow pokemon around. Nothing important but you can wait for that one if you like.
Everything after that will just be added on but won't affect the rest of the game. Originally Posted by StarsMmd It's mostly done.

Will you be able to download the battle bingo and battle cds update whenever that will be released and patch it to the game after saving with the update that will be coming out in a few days?
Sorry if this question is hard to understand, but I couldn't think of a good way to word it. Originally Posted by pokemonlover493 Will saves be able to be carried over between updates? Sorry if this question is hard to understand, but I couldn't think of a good way to word it.That's okay, I get asked a lot so I have a good idea of what you mean. The save file will transfer over. The battle bingo/cd update is another patch which you apply to a clean ISO but doesn't change anything that affects the save. The save file will still work fine with no problems. Originally Posted by pokemonlover493 Hey, StarsMmd. A few more questions. What is the timetable on the minor update?
Also, do you think you can post some screenshots of the changes? No rush for the minor update.
I am just wondering, because I am looking forward to playing the game. Good luck with the rest of it.Well I don't have any particular schedule. There isn't much left to do tbh but I got hooked on pokemon go XD. Should be soon though! There isn't really much that's worth showing screenshots for. Also, are all pokemon available in this hack? Is that even possible to make them all available in XD?Not every pokemon is available. It's possible to have about 150 obtainable pokemon without making any drastic changes. I'm not sure it's possible to represent every evolution line in only 150 slows by I may be mistaken.I'm working on hack tools for colosseum, xd and battle revolution as well as xd randomisers. Mu colosseum randomiser is already out but could do with some work.
I was so excited for Pokémon Colosseum when it was originally released on the GameCube. It felt like a lifetime had passed since Pokémon Stadium on the Nintendo 64 and this right here would really be the first proper Pokémon game to hit a console. Which when you think about it was not done again until Pokémon Sword and Shield on the Switch!
Say Hello To The Bad Guy
I think that Pokémon Colosseum has one of the best openings to any Pokémon game as the character you play as is part of a gang! Ok, so you are technically not a bad guy and you betray your gang, but after an explosion as you make your escape you get pulled into a conspiracy where an evil corporation is turning Pokémon into “Shadow Pokémon” and you decide to set out and save them all!
I think the story is pretty solid and it kept me invested the whole time through. My only criticism and this is a personal thing here, I was not super into my starters being Umbreon and Espeon, but hey I know some people love these Pokémon.
Full 3D Baby!
The presentation of Pokémon Colosseum is fantastic. It may look a bit dated by today's standards, but back when it was released this was such a massive leap not just from the Pokémon games on the GameBoy Advance, but the Pokémon Stadium games on the Nintendo 64 as well. This world may not be super detailed, but there is more than enough to keep you interested.
I love the way the Pokémon look and while the sound may leave a bit to be desired. This for a very long time was the best that Pokémon had ever looked. The actual battles look really cool and more spectacular than we had ever seen before. As good as the Pokémon look though the roster is paper-thin with a little under 50 to catch!
The “gimmick” of Pokémon Colosseum is that you need to try and turn Shadow Pokémon back to normal. Not only this, but double battles are what you will be doing. I like and get frustrated by this. On one hand, the double battle system is a lot of fun, but on the other side of this when you have to turn a Shadow Pokémon, this can be a bit frustrating as I always felt like I was vulnerable.
The whole game is a damn fine RPG in its own right. You meet interesting characters, go to many different locations and of course, there are a ton of Pokémon for you to capture. It has everything you like about the Pokémon games on the handheld consoles and brings it to your TV perfectly.
I really enjoy Pokémon Colosseum and think that it is one of the more underrated and forgotten about Pokémon games. I know that the small roster of Pokémon is a bit of a downer. However, I do think that this is a great adventure and one that is really worth playing through. It has one of the most exciting openings of any Pokémon game you will ever play that is for sure!
Final Score: 8.5/10
- It is a full 3D Pokémon adventure
- The Pokémon look great
- The double battles are very well done
- It has a truly epic opening
- You will be entertained from start to end
- A very small roster of Pokémon
- The graphics are a little dated
